Unfortunately, mine falls into the TSB VIN range, so it's likely not a software issue. I'm now worried about taking this truck to Foxboro next Sunday. It's a long drive from Maine and I'd hate to get stuck in those parking lots after a game. They're bad enough to get out of with a working...
Mine has shifted weirdly a couple of times, usually when I take my foot off the gas as I achieve ~30 mph and it almost always shudders as I go up a hill just before it downshifts. For that one, I just figured the tranny was waiting too long to downshift. I wasn't too concerned with it but maybe...
Is there no pan they can drop? I'm surprised they are not doing anything proactively here. It seems to me that dropping the pan or even doing a "dump & fill" could potentially save them from the cost of a new transmission.
The fact that they are not doing this makes me wonder if they know that...
Try taking off the parking brake before shifting into D. It should stop the clunking. To shut it off, just press down on the parking switch. You should hear it disengage.
I'm with you on the useless cosmetic hood scoop. I'd rather the standard hood myself. But I worry that if I swap it out, it's not a TRD Sport anymore. :)
If it was easy to take these off, I'd offer to swap my Sport pedals for regular ones. I am not a fan of these sport pedals as they are slippery when it's raining out and your shoes are wet. I wish I had straight rubber pedals for sure.
NYTOP posted that they had to lower the price to compete and that they were losing quite a bit of money on them. I wouldn't expect them to make anything like this for our truck in the future.
I understand that it comes off easily. My concern is that the wheel well felt liner is sandwiched between the chin spoiler and the front fender and that when you take the chin spoiler off, that felt is just flapping in the wind (eventually). I'd love for someone to come up with a larger...
I have looked at it but I'm worried that the wheel liner felt piece might get damaged if I do. I was hoping someone was going to come up with a way to protect that liner so I can do this.
I saw some wet spots on my new winter mats this morning (1740 miles). How do I find this box? I looked underneath the dash and it's not obvious where this is.
All of my air dam screws are still there so it's not that.
I checked the size and it's a standard screw head, not metric (between 6 & 7 mm), so it is likely a metal roofing screw. Lucky it wasn't sticking out of my tire. :)
Thanks for the help.
I wonder if it's because there aren't any open weep holes in the door? On my car, they're all plugged with a plastic plug and while water leaks around the plug, it's too tight to let out rain water. Maybe we need to replace one or two of them with a screened plug (so bugs don't get in)?
I was driving the other day and my TRD Sport shifted hard when I took my foot off the gas at ~40 mph. I couldn't tell if it thumped upshifting or downshifting but I could feel it in the gas pedal and in my seat. I hope it's still "learning" my driving patterns and not screwing up. I don't even...
When you take off the chin spoiler, it exposes the TRD Sport skid plate which has a lip on each side that are normally blocked by the chin spoiler. I could easily see those edges catching air and making some noise. It's why I haven't pulled my chin spoiler. I want to try seeing if a TRD Offroad...
Indented bumper steps have been around for a long time. Patents are only good for 17 years. Chevy's recent step/tailgate is covered under a patent but I doubt that patent extends to bumper steps.
Talk about coincidence... I just got these instructions from McGee Toyota this morning. The only step that looks a little off is Step 16. They show the tie wrap from Step 15 but it doesn't look like it's positioned the way it was in Step 15. I still may give this a try myself. Looks pretty easy.
