Welp, Ya heard wrong :) With that theory, you would WANT to get the debris out. The fluids are constantly circulating through the transmission, as would any potential debris. In reality, the suction portion in the sump has a very fine mesh screen that should capture anything large. Also, the...
There sure is. There is a drain and fill procedure. The worst thing to ever do is never change the oil on your trans. Ive done it tons of time on my third gen. Its roughly the same process on the 4th gen. Instead of a dipstick, theres a temperature dependent internal level check.
I've posted...
I always do the first oil changes really early. two oil changes within 3000 miles. All the diffs and transfer at 3000. Gonna drain and fill the trans at 10,000
I did two engine oil changes at 1500 and 3000. Opened both filters and were spotless. First oil smelled a bit smokey. Put amsoil in. Second oil was still brand new
Replaced all the diffs and transfer case oils at 3000. Rear had normal wear sparkles in the oil. Front diff a little less. Transfer...
Im looking at it, trying to figure out how the tonneau opens? Doesnt look like a trifold. Does the whole thing pivot up?
Im looking for racks exactly like that, which will fit the OEM trifold tonneau
It happened to me once when it was brand new in a snow storm. Otherwise, lately its been covered slightly and havent had it go off since that first trip.
Mine has been pretty darn smooth. I think most folks cold, harder shifts in the morning is due to the idle control being slightly elevated during warmup. It will stay slightly elevated even when youre cruising, until it reaches operating temperatures. I believe mine has an august 24 build date...
Seems like just that, the window rubber has some play. I have not been to the dealer.
I see alot of talk about this rattle, and I personally see it like this:
Every vehicle has the potential for rattles. Its an unavoidable reality with pieced together machinery. Even exotic super cars and...
Found a quick fix for the annoying window rattle when its cracked an inch or so. Pop the cover off and toss in some stick on foam strips where ive got the rubber spread with my finger. Puts a slight pressure against the window and stops the rattling. Trim cover pops off by hand.
Definitely Interesting, man. I have the opposite experience. Screens work fine, Oil nothing out of the ordinary for a new engine as i mentioned, Gas tank seems appropriately sized for a small truck?, Seating is better than the third gen (Its purposely a small truck), Transmission is fire...
Ive owned every generation Tacoma, new. Every one had a puff of oil smell upon startup in the cold weather. They all disappeared after the engine gathered miles and broke in.
Why do you think this trucks a POS? Just curious. This has been the best Tacoma out of all the generations, in my...
it looks like this mounts to the front crossmember on TRD models. Do you have a front mounting option for the SR5 models without that front Cross member?
I hear ya. The manual says 4.8 quarts. 0.8 Quarts is almost a whole quart, and thats alot of difference from 4.0 quarts even. The third and second gen took pretty much exactly as advertised.
I still think 0.8 quarts off is alot, but as i stated after, theyre probably measuring that amount from a...
If you have any trim above the SR5, i think you should be good. Look at the top of the fender arch. If you see two bolts, youre good.
It does suck, they are such a great idea. With they wouldve thought it out more. Even with the correct trim, they dont utilize all of the grommet holes that the...
