Oh.. didn't realize.. here, watch this:

I watched Kris video, and he is correct, Toyota will not raise prices in short term and will focus on absorbing the costs for suppliers that could get hurt and go belly up.

No parts, no vehicles.

Toyota market cap is well over $200 billion, that is worth more than the big-3 combined. Only Tesla tops Toyota in market cap, but I think they are overvalued. Toyota is a huge manufacturer; they can weather some tariffs in short run until retaliatory measures kick in.

Tariffs upset the current trajectory and status quo. The current trajectory of this nation is visiting fly over rust belt towns and cities that have been left behind when industry abandoned them. Does not look pretty.

So, the wealthy lost 5% of their massive stock portfolio's this week. I live in one of the poorest counties in my state, and the sun still came up and went down. Nothing changed in our direction, yet.

I do work for an actual U.S. manufacturer with a campus of 1,500 American workers. We make Speed Queen washer machines, both residential and commercial. We sold all of our deliveries in April and our larger commercial units have seen a spike in sales. We are busy, and more OT is coming. Just like with covid nonsense, we never stopped and were busy round the clock with orders.

We source parts globally, we know the drill.

You make the best washer and dryers on the market! Me and my wife bought a new house last December and need appliances, first stop was our local Speed Queen dealer to get a washer and dryer. Speed Queen is one of the only companies I know of where the washer lid don’t lock and gives you a deep fill option. Sorry to get off topic, but just wanted to give you some props for building some awesome washer and dryers.

I think the title should probably read, "DEALERS expected to raise Tacoma prices regardless of what's transpiring with tariffs and/or Japan's negotiations with the White House".

If they're open to negotiating (which they are), they're gonna get a seat at the table and likely free & clear ports. Trump does deals. Japan is a f*king island chain, yet Toyota N.A. employs 59,000 Americans. The White House will probably carve out exemptions on their trade imbalance.. Ford has a payroll of 88,000 Americans and Tesla only employs ~50,000 people in the USA (although they don't report specific numbers).

If you're overpaying for a Tacoma here & now, you're letting the media embolden dealerships to rake it in.

You hit the nail on the head. I hauled a load of Blavk Walnut and White oak logs to a veneer buyer close to a job I had. I never dealt with him before but he was 30 min away vs 3 hrs. The first thing out of his mouth was " tariffs have killed the market, they're worth half of what they were yesterday" as he was salivating over the veneer walnut I fired the truck up and started to leave. He asked where I was going, I told him to someone paying full price for a log. $4 a bd ft or i leave. We went from .90 to $4 in a matter of 45 seconds. He was going to hustle me out of 25k if he could of. Sane with dealers or anyone else raising prices due to tariffs right now. The sky isn't falling go about your day. They're still discounting Tacoma's 3-6k as far as I see.
