2024 Tacoma 1 Year Ownership Review 1000013494

Well the day has come! 1 year of owning my 2024 Sport 4x4!

I am happy to report zero mechanical/ electrical issues with the truck. The only warranty thing i had fixed was a lower window moulding replaced as it would not stay in place. ( yes I'm aware of the lifting upper bedside trim and will 3m tape that myself when the weather permits).

After 1 year, I still believe this is a better overall truck than my old 3rd gen. I still think this powertrain is perfect for this truck. ( I'd love a V8 option but I know that ain't going to happen).

I have a few dislikes with this truck for instance:
-Seat belt alarm
-Too many driver/nanny aids
-Super plastic/cheap feeling on my trim level.
- small back seat when I take whole family out. ( not often)
- front radar gets blocked by 5 snowflakes
The good,
- tows my trailers fine
- tough looks
- Great powertrain
- interior comfortable
- it's a Toyota

In short, 99 percent of the time this is a perfect sized truck for me and has enough power. Still in love.......

How many miles did you put on it in the 1 year of ownership? I have yet to see the blue in person but man it sure looks good in your picture

I'm right there with you đź’™ Tows my trailer well too and the heated seats/wheel have been nice this winter âť„ every time I see and drive my truck I'm really glad I stepped up to the 4G and glad I waited for the Blue đź›»

@Blue Crush Taco , I’m in total agreement with all your points. I’ve had my SO Off Road for almost 6 months and 10,000 km.

I’ll add two more that would make it better to the list:
Mine is a 6’ bed and the turning circle seems worse than my old 1998 K1500 Silverado.
The lack of a trailer brake control and the difficulty in installing one is my biggest gripe.

Overall I like the truck, and happy I waited for it. My first Toyota.

Ya the turning radius takes a bit to get used to for sure. ( i had a short box tacoma last time and I don't remember it being as bad. My truck came with the brake controller actually but none of my trailers have electric brakes.....maybe someday.

Well the day has come! 1 year of owning my 2024 Sport 4x4! ...
Thanks for review. It validates my decision to continue to obstinately wait for my Off Road w/ the Off Road Premium Package and a 6MT unicorn to show up. One day, they're going to make my truck and the allocation will be unclaimed. One day...

The seatbelt alarm is such an easy fix. Carista and it's fixed.

I am 8 months into my ownership, ~7K miles and no problems.

I have added
- Tinted front door windows
- tonneau cover
- front LED turn signals (complaint)

Additional complaints
- gap in front wheel liner. Lots of dirt into the engine compartment. (Plan to fix after snow)
- mud flaps are useless. (Plan to fix after snow)
- Skid plates are crap, cracked front on on a stump. Did its job which is good. (Plan to replace with metal after snow)
- non locking gas door

Overall I love this truck it is my first Toyota and first pickup.

Your going to love it! I might have gotten the off road if they had it then. This truck was an early arrival and I snagged it right away. ( they still not sitting at dealerships for long here in Canada)

The blue crush metallic is SO sweet. I also love the supersonic red, terra, and bronze oxide. I wish Toyota would make more trucks that aren't white, grey, or black. Just a personal preference; I know there are lot of fleet sales out there that make those trucks move.
