Hi All - I noticed a slight coolant leak coming from the hoses connected to the expansion tank. Coolant levels didn’t look low, so I figured it would be an easy fix. Made an appointment and dropped it off at the dealer 7/25.

They let me know they need to replace a part (coolant bypass?), but there are no parts in stock nationwide and had no idea when they’d have it. A few days later they told me 9/9, then 8/28.

It seems crazy to me for my brand new truck with ~2000 miles to be stuck in the shop for over a month waiting on a $12 part.

Has anyone had a similar experience? Is there a way to escalate this? The dealer has been accommodating and even got me a loaner TRD ORP, but I’d rather have my truck back.

Can duct tape or something temporary help hold it if it’s a slight leak? Until the part comes?

Was yours the premium model? Does it have less miles than your? Do you like it? See if they will make you a REALLY SWEET deal on yours for the premium one.

There were one or 2 others that had this earlier this year.

So what ever happened? How long did the repair take? My '24 Limited has the same issue. It has been 4 weeks and no info about parts yet.

They replaced that coolant bypass hose (top hose in your photo) and the clamps on either end of it. It's been fine since the replaced it. I think I ended up waiting about 3-4 weeks for the part.

They gave me a loaner initially but I wanted my truck back because it was practically brand new at the time and the leak was slow enough I wasn't concerned. I added a hose clamp (the cheap worm gear kind) at either end of the hose temporarily and that stopped the leak. I'd suggest doing that while waiting for parts. Maybe they can give you a bottle of coolant for your troubles - cheaper for them than the loaner.

Thanks. I’m crossing my fingers it’s repaired next week.
