I’m sorry to hear about the main seal and I’d be so pissed, but honestly that is not terrible to change a rear main seal. It’s usually just dropping the transmission. My guess is it was installed wrong and if it’s wrong it will LEAK, bad. I would be far more upset if you had the tundra problem and getting a new short block soon and pulling the engine/etc would be way worse. I wish you luck.

Not happy at all right now. Picked this up 2 days ago. 10km on odo, currently at still at under 20km after driving back from dealer. Clearly has an oil leak (not AC condensation, see pics).

Toyota sales rep unsure whats going on. Service closed til Monday. Will need to get it towed.

Anyone else experienced this and if so what was the issue? Makes me question whether they truly do PDI.

Miss threaded engine oil cooler from the factory. Just happened to mine I’m trying to get a new truck.

I'd be contacting Toyota Canada on this one - that's pretty unacceptable. Read on this forum some other guys truck was bought back for a cracked evaporator box leaking water onto passenger floor. Attached

Contact them for what, exactly? It's a mass produced thing. There will be issues. Always has been and always will be. Could be due to the seal manufacturer, installer, or just failed early. May not have been leaking during PDI (and yes, we all know PDI is a joke). Life is too short to get upset over something as minor as this.

No intelligent life form here…. cant reply, answer to your question was in my post. (Hint: take the truck back)

The premise is ridiculous. You aren't guaranteed a perfect vehicle when you buy one. There are laws regarding fitness of merchantability. You should educate yourself on those and the quality of your posts will increase.

You’re not winning here. - premise not ridiculous. One person on this forum has had his truck bought back for evaporator leaks(cited). There are lemon laws as well (check into those). Lastly I’m not looking for a grade on the quality of my post‘s.🤦🏻‍♂️

Just an update for those interested:
Rear main seal is fixed. I opted to take the truck back with them offering free max warranty (7yrs) rather than waiting months for a new truck with same colour/trim. I'm in canada so things are a lot slower here and inventory is low. Plus they couldnt offer me an indefinite loaner so i didnt have much of a choice really.

No problems so far after driving ~1000km. Hopefully it remains reliable for many years to come.

Thanks for the follow up, seems like a reasonable settlement.

Glad you're back on the road. Folks this is what warranty is for.
