So I ordered one..

That's truely annoying. It seems like every aftermarket part I'm interested in is on some sort of backorder. Almost as if manufacturers are saying "we have the design but instead of mass producing to have stock availability were just going to wait until we get an order to produce"

Would make sense if it was a custom made bullbar or something, not a bolt on part. I know those magnaflows were on back order up until recently too.

Honestly the turbo is already decently loud. Works smoother wouldnt say it’s much louder though. Like the 3rd gen afe intake I had. That was way louder. Not sure if I want more induction noise though on this truck. Probably little more exhaust. Trd pro level and that’s good enough for me. Plan on getting that intake and exhaust
I know this is old but have you ever got the exhaust and intake done ? I feel the same way just want the trd pro level exhaust , nothing. Crazy .

The stock intake is a cold intake.
Correct, all intakes suck in cold air.

Obviously I meant aftermarket CAI, open box cone filter lol. Want to hear more growl and turbo blow off.

Actually, I think an intake that brings in air from the engine bay is considered a hot air intake. They used to be common.

But good luck with your quest.

Thanks! I'll get one eventually.

I could be wrong but most modern day vehicles, including this Tacoma funnels the air in through the grille, back when I had my Cruze I installed a CAI and I'm positive that CAI actually sucked in more warm air than the factory air intake ever did, just the way the CAI was horribly sectioned off from the rest of the engine bay 😂 I'm actually quite impressed at how well the airbox in these Tacoma's are designed.

Injen is doing R&D for their intake on our Tacoma. 2 intakes and an exhaust system.

Hey All,

Stillen is about to release our Air intake kit soon! If anyone would be interested I can send you a message or email when released!
What’s pricing looking like on your kit? Also with the added air flow, any issues with the mass air flow sensor?
