Is it possible to install this with just removing the side bed lights? Or do you have to go through the wheel well for full access?
That would be an awesome idea IF you can get it out from the bed side. If you look closely at the light, there is that black locking tab on the aft side of the light.

Plus how would you fish the rest of the wiring back to the end of the bed to the taillight. It really needs to be zip tied up so not just dangle around and have pulling pressure on the connections.

Ok. I got mine done. I popped the bed lights out by pushing the back edge tailgate side of the light toward the front. (The side with two notches is toward the bottom). Then I removed the storage compartment on the driver side and power plug on the passenger side to access inside the bed. That’s where I was able to connect the wiring. I was also able to zip tie from inside those two access areas. If you wanted to you can remove the tail lights to clip in the connector or just zip tie it all from behind the access areas.

Your way is definitely more clean but I just didn’t want to mess with the flares and liner.

Great job! I think that might be the way to go. Seems to be less intensive, that's for sure.

Mine came factory installed, didn’t realize how much I’d love them and how useful they are at night.

I got the #PT944-35241 which is for the 6ft bed but 35240 which is for the 5ft bed are the same. They come with both sides, two harnesses and a pack of zip ties.

They do not come on when you remote start. Only when you unlock or walk up to it and press unlock.

Like maxx075 said, they are plugged into the same connection that the internal bed lights are on. Plus they come on the same time the back flood light by the 3rd break light lights up.
just to clarify, the rails come with the lights, correct?

Not a bad price, considering they are $400 that's only $240 in labor... Nobody does any work these days for less than $300 typically.

Unless I’m mistaken he wrote it as the dealer is quoting 640 for installation. Not including parts.

$640 labor cost, excluding the price of the lights. I just installed the lights myself, super easy.

I have a question...when you buy a new vehicle and there is a list of options on the sticker, who installed those options? Factory? Dealer? My truck came with a laundry list of options, $6,600 worth to be exact, did the dealer order the truck with these options installed or did the dealer install them?

Depends - if it's on the Monroney label it came from the factory, if not dealer installed.
