Best A/T tires for snow - Ko3's or Ridge Grapplers?

I've had the Ridge grapplers before, not that great in snow but loved them off road. I really liked my Goodyear Duratracs in snow, best snow tire I've had IMO. I'm looking at either a set of KO3'sor a set of Goodyear Duratrac RT's in 275/70/18. Never heard anything but good things about KO@'s and KO3's but no personal experience with them.

Can you get the Wildpeaks in SL in that size? I know in 285/70/17 the Falken SL's are lighter than the KO3's which are C or E.

I went with 275/70/18's. I was originally leaning towards 285's, but a few others either tried them out or shared that the 285's impacted MPG's, and had some 'light' rubbing at certain turning angles. Haven't mounted them yet (this wee), I'll post some pics once I do. Pics below show the size diff over stock.

I drove my TRD OR with the stock 265/70-17 BFG All Terrains (Toyota OEM version) in about an inch of Sierra snow at about 34 degrees this week. It was scary. I thought I was going to go off the road multiple times. I didn’t air down (it was about 31 psi) as I was doing a mix of bare pavement and the bit of snow. I did notice when I got into a bit deeper snow (a few inches) it was better.

Sliding around in the slick part was worse than any other vehicle I’ve had and I’ve driven in snow all my life (a long time). These tires aren’t 3PMSF rated.

I’m shopping for new more capable tires … was torn between the AT4W (but very heavy) and the KO3 (reports of vibration, out of round, etc) but given these reports I’m stuck in analysis paralysis. I’m also considering using this opportunity to upgrade to 285/70-17 and trying to minimize the hit to the mpg.
