I have the Retrax Pro XR. It has full length T slots unlike other retractable covers where the slots only go to canister. Plus they have the best quality and warranty.
I second the Retrax Pro. I don't have any of the T slot models but I run 9 Retrax pro model covers on multiple F350 fleet trucks and they are top of the line and the only ones that last. Going on 6 yrs now and 0 issues with Retrax. It will freeze up occasionally but we live and work in upper midwest and daily freeze / thaw cycles daily in the winter. I'm going with the Retrax pro model with T slots on my new Pro if I keep it. I also need to get over the 2k price for this tiny bed. The full size covers were 1300ish 4 yrs ago.....

I have the Retrax Pro XR as well. I need make some adjustments to reduce water getting in. Not a lot of water is getting in, but some. Outside of that, it has been solid. I installed the Kuat Ibex rack in the T-rail slots, it was pretty easy.

Do you happen to have any other pics of your set up? I am considering the Ibex and a t-slot tonneau for my Bronze Oxide TRD Off-Road and I would love to see how it looks on your Trailhunter.

I really like the idea of being able to add a bed rack or cross bars...and still have a tonneau cover. Looks like there are a few options out there: BAK Revolver, synetic, retrax...and I think Truxedo has a soft roll, but not currently avail for the new Tacoma. Is the T-slot rail really that usable? Could you mount a rack with a roof top tent on top?? Is weight capacity an issue?

I don't know anything about the racks, like Yakima or whatever - never had one. Do they make them fully adjustable so that I could use the same rack on different sized trucks - either the Taco or my SuperDuty?
Since 1980 I've never had a bad experience with anything Yakima and friends has their bed racks but for my Tacoma I got a Fas-Top that has their jaybar racks that are compatible. The thing to know re Fas-Top is the tonneau/topper all in one. With ease I have an open bed, soft topper, and can do a quick change even if traveling. I can have the all open bed and easily take the topper part out. I have window and screen options.

My photo here illustrates how the tonneau rolled up with topper up works and looks with the 4th gen Tacoma.

This might not satisfy everyone but is working out great for me so far. I love the versatility. The Fas-Top maker has been in business a long time making heavy duty trucking and ag tarp or cover products, and the Fas-Tops have been around for years now. They're well-proven though maybe not as fancy or sophisticated as some stuff out there.

I did not get their rack yet because I'm leaning towards towers and my Yakima bars for cab top mount. That will be superior for hauling a canoe or long ladder via the overhang. While Jaybar and my associates' Yakima bed racks are adjustable, I like the easy remove idea and lower cost to leverage Yakima cross bars and accessories I have.

This may have been asked or a pic in another thread but how much room does the canister take up in the bed? I only have full size retrax models and I can't find a dealer with one in stock locally to check out. Truck looks good btw

Thanks @BearTacos. You will lose about 13" from the bed on top. You will have about 18" of height under the can, so, 18 x 13 for a storage stash. Also - given I did not want to electric version of the Retrax XR but wanted to open and close from the tailgate (given the side is now covered by the Kuat molle panel), I built a line and SS pulley for this. I am using a piece of 1" black pipe to conceal this above the side rail. So far so good on that.

Thanks man, i greatly appreciate that. That's really not too bad. I'll be ordering one now. The quality and features of Retrax is top of the line and best available in my opinion.
