Looked at a Canadian Trailhunter with standard 6’ bed, roof rack and moonroof (all over the base USA configuration) and it had a payload rating of 1145 lbs. Somewhat lower than expected and hoped for.

That's *technically* not the payload. The payload is the GVWR - curb weight. Payload can even be affected by unsprung weight.

The magic number you essentially shouldn't exceed is GVWR. Only way you can figure out your true payload is by weighing your truck, and subtracting that from the GVWR.

Your GVWR is 3100kg. My guess is the curb weight on your TH is probably in the ballpark of 2450kg. This would leave your payload at around 650kg, a lot more than what your sticker says.

Trailhunter GVWR is actually actually quite high. In fact, it's the highest out of all the trims - 3100kg or 6835lbs.

Ironically, it has one of the lowest payloads - 1475 with a 5' bed or 1435 with a 6' bed. Probably due to all of the steel components that ship with the truck, like the ARB sport bar and full steel skids running all the way down.

I'd guess that sport bar probably weighs like 80lbs so just taking it off will gain you a lot of payload.

80 sounds about right. I’m going to weight it tomorrow lol
So I weighed the bar and hardware this morning.

Findings:

ARB Sports Bar Only: 52.4 lbs
Hardware Only: 11.8 lbs
Total Weight (mounted): 64.2 lbs

There you have it.

My OR is 1200, about the same as my 21 Tundra was lol. A youtuber loaded his 24OR up with hay to the max payload and had about an inch to spare before the bump stops touched the frame. Not bad honestly. Already have 100lbs+ added to mine with addons so I just consider it to be about 1000lbs after I'm in it.
