Can the card key be used to start the truck or is only to unlock the doors?

Credit card fob can definitely be used to unlock doors, start and drive the truck.

Can the card key be used to start the truck or is only to unlock the doors?

Yes it will start/lock/unlock. You can also set up your phone as a digital key so you can unlock/start without the fob or key card. You can share digital keys with up to 7 other phones/devices. This can all be revoked at any time using the Toyota app.
