First oil change at 1000 miles.

Did the first oil change. Everything seems normal. Except the drain plug gasket was stuck to the oil pan so I just reused it and made sure the plug was nice and tight. Here are some photos of the oil and the wear debris in the oil. No big chunks of metal or anything in the filter either.

Toyota doesn't "recommend" you change your oil until 10k. Toyota also doesn't "recommend" that you keep a vehicle as long as possible, so take their recommendations with a grain of salt.

I just did my 4th oil change at 15k.

It’s universally known that engines have a break in procedure. A oil change within the first 3000 miles is highly recommended. Although the oil hasn’t degraded. The oil has metal and other contaminates from the manufacturing process in it. This combined with the fact it’s a turbo engine. Oil is very important to the longevity of your truck.

Toyota dose recommends that the first oil change at 10k miles. In my option that is absurd. The oil might last longer because it’s full synthetic and has anti wear additives. But oil degrades at the same as it did 20 years ago. I would ignore Toyotas recommendation. Get your oil changed every 5k miles.
