I'm thinking of getting the two front door windows tinted.
My "tint" guy said 20% should match the back windows and 35% is a nice transition if I don't want to go too dark..
What do you guys recommend?

I have 35% on mine. Your back windows didnā€™t come from the factory at 20%.

Just had mine done yesterday and went 20% in the front and 35% in the back. This was the installerā€˜s recommendation to make the frontā€™s better match the back privacy glass.

I did 35% on the front. They're a little bit lighter than the rear windows, but I'm happy with the end result. The tint shop I used metered the rear windows at around 25-26% if I remember correctly.

if you tint the front at the same % as the rear - the front will look lighter because they're right next to the windshield.

tinting the front windows will also make the rear windows look darker, since the rear is getting less light through the front now.

you definitely want to go darker on the front if you want the front and rear to look the same.

20% is pretty good. that's what I got. I wish I had gone one step darker on the front, so probably 15%.

Thanks, I'm wondering how 20% effects night driving?

Rear is right in between what most tint shops have. They usually go 25 then 35. Rears are about 32. However as stated above when the fronts get tinted they even out the back when doing 35%. Personally unless you have great eyesight and your night vision is also perfect then 20% starts making it dangerous at night in my humble opinion. I would not do anything darker than 35.
