Question for manual owners
. Has any one experienced their clutch very hard and rubbery when its cold . . Is it normal .
Here in calgary during morning start up temp outside around -15 . Clutch feels different but as i start driving after some time it totally normal . And also ac and temp display behaves very odd . I have attached vedio . If i turn fan on and off Display will very slowly light up like its doing in slow motion

all my manual toyotas clutches were stiff for a bit, and my 4 runner display is a little slow until it warms up when its that cold. Iḿ still on the search for a manual how you liking it?

I haven’t experienced that yet with this truck but it hasn’t been that cold here this year. My 3rd gen definitely behaved how you described on really cold days.

I haven't experienced that yet but it barely got below zero here. In my experience first few hundred miles the clutch was a little grabby, but now it's been great.

The clutch on every manual vehicle I've ever driven has done this in the cold. It'll feel spongey and a bit stiffer to push in the clutch pedal until the trans temps come up a bit after a mile or so of driving. Nothing to worry about. Chevys, VWs, Subaru, Nissan, Saab, and Jeeps have all done this in cold weather from my experience. The screen issue is something different though. I haven't seen that, but it's also not gotten anywhere near that cold where I'm at. It's weird that if it was a temperature related issue, none of your other screens are behaving oddly. That's some cold weather! -15 YEESH!

Side question: is that an aftermarket shift knob you have there or is that how the manuals sold in Canada come?

Thanks for rply just wanted to make sure that it is normal . Shift knob - it came with different one . But then i changed it to this trd shift knob from toyota . This one is bit expensive i paid 160 cad for this but its worth it . Shifting experience is much better

Very good so far . Had some issues first getting use to this manual transmission in starting when i bought it . Other than that no problem . Only thing i wish that toyota would change in this change first gear ratio . It is very low . For normal driving not good .
