Here in calgary during morning start up temp outside around -15 . Clutch feels different but as i start driving after some time it totally normal . And also ac and temp display behaves very odd . I have attached vedio . If i turn fan on and off Display will very slowly light up like its doing in slow motion

I haven’t experienced that yet with this truck but it hasn’t been that cold here this year. My 3rd gen definitely behaved how you described on really cold days.

I haven't experienced that yet but it barely got below zero here. In my experience first few hundred miles the clutch was a little grabby, but now it's been great.

The clutch on every manual vehicle I've ever driven has done this in the cold. It'll feel spongey and a bit stiffer to push in the clutch pedal until the trans temps come up a bit after a mile or so of driving. Nothing to worry about. Chevys, VWs, Subaru, Nissan, Saab, and Jeeps have all done this in cold weather from my experience. The screen issue is something different though. I haven't seen that, but it's also not gotten anywhere near that cold where I'm at. It's weird that if it was a temperature related issue, none of your other screens are behaving oddly. That's some cold weather! -15 YEESH!

Side question: is that an aftermarket shift knob you have there or is that how the manuals sold in Canada come?

Thanks for rply just wanted to make sure that it is normal . Shift knob - it came with different one . But then i changed it to this trd shift knob from toyota . This one is bit expensive i paid 160 cad for this but its worth it . Shifting experience is much better

Very good so far . Had some issues first getting use to this manual transmission in starting when i bought it . Other than that no problem . Only thing i wish that toyota would change in this change first gear ratio . It is very low . For normal driving not good .

My clutch does exactly what you describe in very cold days (under 0C/32F), usually below freezing. Here in VA weather is so random, we can have days as cold as -6C/22F to as warm as 10C/50F and you can really feel the difference in clutch cold start feel when its below freezing. Feels normal. My old manual car did the same.

My LCD screen is behaving the same as yours, I think? It might be fading out a little faster right now when I turn off the fan, but it's not insanely cold out either today. I feel like I've read somewhere that this is normal for LCD screens... I just can't remember where... Maybe it was for some screen at work... I just think it can happen to screens in weather like yours. If nothing more below is what Copilot told me when I asked it:

Pop it out of gear without the clutch, use the clutch start cancel, and start the engine and let it warm things up, if you don't have a garage to keep it in. Block heater will also help this.

No need to use clutch start cancel, start it normally to warm up a bit. Block heater will make it easier to start and warm up quicker, but the clutch will still be stiffer at the start, maybe the owners that have had -45 degrees celsius can chime in to how its behaving.

If the clutch cylinders are hydraulic, as i would imagine them to be, it is due to the fluid being thicker in the extreme cold weather. Same happens to brakes in the extreme cold, but its less noticeable due to the shorter throw in a brake pedal vs clutch.

In addition to that, the seals, piston in the master and slave cylinders, as well as the lubrication in linkages bearings, are all thicker due to the cold, and compounds that stiffness.

The clutch cylinder under the dash gets warmed with the cab first, and loosens things up.
