New ARE topper on TRD Off Road - Ice Cap

I have the premium, so I think loose one of the cameras for the rear view mirror. I know some companies are working on this. Not sure if ARE has figured it out.

I have the Premium, and yes it will block your camera. If you want to keep it, you have to relocate it. https://www.ggoffroad.com/ has a kit that works well. I ended up making a mount that goes through the cap. It works great, but Its still a work in progress as far as looks go. The relocation portion is not easy and almost impossible after you get the cap on, so if this is something that interests you, you will need to do it first.

Very nice. I wish they would've had that model available when I bought mine. I like my cap, don't get the wrong idea, but I really want a rack on top of mine now and will probably have to build a reinforcementjust installed today - yeah!

I got an ARE camper shell for my 2024 long bed as soon as it was available. Three things are worth mentioning. First, the color match for celestial silver isn't great. Acceptable, but...
Second, I had to get the opener pistons replaced. During freezing weather they would barely hold the back window six inches above the tailgate. We'll see how the new ones hold up. Finally, the brake light on the shell filled with condensation/water right away. It has been replaced and we'll see how the new one holds up. Anyways... Just thought it worth mentioning.

Man that sucks to hear. I was considering ARE too after returning my Smartcap. Thank you for sharing. I’ll reconsider now.
My 2005 Tacoma had a Snugtop which was great. No complaints. When I went to order the shell for my 2024 they told me that ARE is now considered a step above Snugtop and Leer. Plus they came out with a shell first and I needed one ASAP. They did the replacements for free, so no complaints there, but you expect better for $4,600.00. Funny thing was the sales guy said they are made by the Quakers, which I guess implies they should be high quality.
