Hello Guys…

Noticed today, the suspension on my TRD pro is about one inch taller on the passenger side rear than the drivers side… is this normal and how to fix it?

Thanks!

Pics? Now you have me concerned! Maybe you were parked on an uneven surface when measuring?

That is an interesting question @james cole. My truck appears to be even in ride height, but I have not measured it.

When I put coilovers on a car I started by measuring the OEM ride height and found that it sat lower on the driver's side. Posting on a forum revealed that uneven height was common on that model and that almost all of them sat lower on the driver's side. It would be interesting to see if that is the case for all 4th gens and in particular the Pros.

Where on the truck are you measuring the height? I will measure my truck but want to compare apples to apples and measure in the same place.

I am measuring at my underground garage which appears to be level…

gas tank is at 1/4 full and it appears the gas tank is at passenger side.

I will move the truck to a different spot and measure again.

I just checked my truck, which is sitting on my very level garage floor. I measured to the bottom of the fender flair at the wheel center and there is a slight difference from side to side. In the front the driver's side is just 1/16" lower that the passenger side. In the rear the driver's side sits 1/4" lower.

I think that is probably well within tolerance for any production vehicle, and that 1 inch on your truck probably is also. I don't know of any way to change the ride height unless you have adjustable coilovers, but maybe someone else knows of something. I don't think the shock setting would make any difference, but my rear shocks were set to different settings when I picked the truck up.

The 2004-2007 gmc and Chevy 2500hd diesels were like this. If I remember correctly I had to tighten the torsion bar on the DF side. It then messed up my body panel spacing. I just parked min on a dead level building slab because I happen to be on a job site today. Mine is perfect. I have shocks on 1 but they are going back to 2 as it nose dives when braking

38 3/8" on D 38 5/8" on P if you want to be technical. That's perfect to me, not sure as only truck I ever measured was my 05 gmc back in 2008 ish

My TH is 1/2” taller on passenger side. It could have to do with gas tank weight etc. Also - when you measure - MAKE SURE YOUR WHEELS ARE POINTING STRAIGHT AHEAD - and if the ground is not dead level it will be way off - these trucks are made to flex

@tacorancher Good idea about the wheels being straight - I'm pretty sure that would affect the front end. @james cole's difference is in the back, so it is probably not as important, not that I am a suspension engineer.
