Just because its got a turbo on it doesn't mean its gonna explode as soon as you get four tires off pavement and just because its a beefy NA engine doesnt mean its not gonna throw a rod through the engine block.

I'm not connecting those GM dots to turbocharging. The reason turbos have a mythological reputation for unreliability is that back in the 90s, there were aftermarket turbos sold for engines that weren't designed for turbos.

I don't get the relationship here. Not one of those vehicles with that engine were ever turbocharged. The 6.2 V8 never got a turbo, The 6.2 did get a supercharger, but never in those vehicles.

I believe OP's idea here is that there is a lot of talk about the (un)reliability of turbo'd small displacement engines, but modern V8s are also having their fair share of problems (5.0 coyote, GM's 6.2)
