Hey fellow Trailhunter owners . Purchased mine 3 weeks ago and did not experience the vibration for the first 1K miles, but that was because i did not push the vehicle past 65 mph until hitting 1K.
At the first sign of the noise I emailed the GM from the dealership that I purchased from explaining the issue and Toyota had me bring the truck in the next morning to resolve.
Not 100% sure exactly what they did, but I do know that Toyota has a fix for this because they were able to resolve the issue in ~1 hr. They removed the rack, added additional foam insulation, reinstalled and torqued to spec.
Gave the Trailhunter the old “Back to The Future” test on the highway, and at 88 MPH no vibrations.
Dealerships can be pricks sometimes, but there is a known fix with Toyota and this is covered by warranty. Don’t take no for an answer, be persistent and email the GM if needed and the issue will get resolved.
