Hey fellow Trailhunter owners đź‘‹. Purchased mine 3 weeks ago and did not experience the vibration for the first 1K miles, but that was because i did not push the vehicle past 65 mph until hitting 1K.

At the first sign of the noise I emailed the GM from the dealership that I purchased from explaining the issue and Toyota had me bring the truck in the next morning to resolve.

Not 100% sure exactly what they did, but I do know that Toyota has a fix for this because they were able to resolve the issue in ~1 hr. They removed the rack, added additional foam insulation, reinstalled and torqued to spec.

Gave the Trailhunter the old “Back to The Future” test on the highway, and at 88 MPH no vibrations.

Dealerships can be pricks sometimes, but there is a known fix with Toyota and this is covered by warranty. Don’t take no for an answer, be persistent and email the GM if needed and the issue will get resolved.

I just tried this fix. Although, I am sure it would have worked as the front panel was far tighter, the back bracing was also pushing against the roof of the cab of my truck. I didn't want to risk it wearing into the paint so I took it back off. I think I am going to give up on the factory rack and go a different direction. I appreciate you coming up with a fix for this, sad it didn't work out for me.

I’m not sure about the insulation fix, but I’ve tried multiple things. Bushings, washers, foam, furniture stoppers etc. They all worked but had a flaw or downside. Foam gets wet, bumpers stop vibrating completely but create a wider gap which makes the rack crazy loud. Only “fix” I have found is wrapping paracord around the faring and brace between each “Toyota” letter. It is quiet and doesn’t shake even a little. But still isn’t a fix. Just a bandaid until I can get the dealer to help me figure out a permanent solution.

My dealership would not work with me and refused to do anything without seeing the truck. And at the time the rack was not on the truck. I wasn’t about to put the rack back on the truck, drive it to the dealership, drop it off, let them keep it to diagnose that indeed it does have the issue, call me and tell me they didn’t have the parts, have me pick the truck back up, wait for the parts, then drop it off again, them finally fix it, then have to pick it up again. That would have taken weeks and hours of my time. And I did confirm that all that would have had to have been done at the dealership closest to me. They will not be seeing the truck ever unless there is some large warranty issue, not even for covered oil changes.
It was a far better option to just spend about 5 min finding some bumpers on Amazon that worked and take 20 min to install them myself and put the rack back on.

Take your truck to the dealer, they have a solution: they add 3 rubber bumpers, attached is what the bumpers look like and the service bulletin (TSB). It is #T-SB-0016-25. They take the roof rack somewhat apart to add the bumpers. They will have to drive the truck before and after. My dealer did mine last Friday during my 5K service. I was in and out in 92 minutes.

Sorry your dealer is a dick..I called my dealer and gave them the TSB number, they ordered the parts and when they came in they called and set up an appointment.. went to my dealer and they took about an hour to install..report that dealer to corporate there’s no reason for them to be like that
