OEM TRD Off Road Tail Pipe and emissions

I isntalled the TRD Off road Tail Pipe.

In Colorado you don't have to do emissions on a new car for 7 years.

So in 7 years, will I have an issue with this tailpipe? They like to put the sniffer on the tail pipes.

I did save the original exhaust. Isn't this the stock tail pipe for the Pro or Trail Hunter?

Anyone familiar enough with Colorado emissions to know?

some more info. Looks like I woulddnt need a tailpipe test until 2036 and then likely wouldnt matter.. This is Colorado emissions

It’s just a different tailpipe. It’s not going to affect your emissions, which is controlled by your catalytic converter.

I am a retired state trooper and have some experience and advice to give with this. Any time a vehicle has “modifications” it can get extra scrutiny from inspectors. Also any time something is outside the norm like the exhaust tip position you have vs a “normal” placement coming from the side or the rear of the vehicle. The main concern with exhaust is that it exits the vehicle behind the passenger area and in a way that will not under normal conditions have exhaust coming into the passenger compartment. An ignorant inspector may claim to have a concern with your tip placement because he may have to bend over to get the sniffer into the exhaust. Note these are not troopers and not always the most mobile people if you get my drift. I suggest that you keep any paperwork showing this tip is OEM with your registration. OEM equipment is approved by numerous regulatory agencies and is always completely legal. If you ever get a hard time just be able to show you have OEM equipment.

I have some non OEM mods on Easton Taco like front tinted windows (don’t tell anyone LOL), usually showing up for inspection with a clean truck in good condition, along with a smile and nice hello will get you off to a good start with inspectors.

I would have to guess it wont effect a test. The Trail Hunter has it from the factory.

In the non free state of Kalifornia, if the truck is too loud- problem… but for emissions, the vehicle self tests as you drive, and also when you shut the truck off.. evaluate test when you shut the truck off. So if the vehicle reports everything is good, then not a problem
