Hello, so I’m looking to purchase a Tacoma Sport+ in a few months and I phoned up my insurance for a quote to get a rough idea on cost. My insurance quoted me at $4600 a year! My 2013 Ram 1500 is $2100, just curious what other people are paying for insurance

This is probably not an fair comparison, but here are my insurance numbers from BC on my TRD Sport Premium with 6 foot box. I am a senior and don’t regularly drive to work but my annual insurance full coverage was just under $1800. That’s with collision, comprehensive and under insured motorist protection, plus a rental if needed. Like I said it’s probably not a fair comparison between Ontario and BC, but nevertheless here you go..

Has to be a mistake - mines about $1800.00 a year. Do you have a bad driving record? Gathering not if your Ram is a more “normal” price. I did have to get a TAG installed in the truck or they were going to charge me another $500.00 a month.

Not that I’m aware of. The only conviction I have against me is a 10km over speeding ticket I got on my bike 2 years ago

I'm DT Toronto and on a loaded package with Co-operators. 5yr principal payout (depreciation protection on loss <-- get this!), accident forgiveness, rental cars, etc. $500 deductible, low KMs/no work commute, no traffic violations and 30 years accident/claim free. $2600 before TAG, $2100 after (-->$299 cooperators discounted TAG installation at Speedy). Can share the policy details in a DM if that helps.

I do have 2 vehicles on the policy -- comically the Porsche is $1900 with a $160,000 pay out on loss. Guessing the anti-millennial theft device is the key there (manual 6 speed;))

Wild lol, and sure if you don’t mind!

I wonder if my age is playing a factor as well, I’m 33. And I just found out I can get a corporate rate through co-operators through my work so I’ll give them a call

Sent dude - Short of Chubb which only insure ultra-low kms on collectors (eg <1K km p/yr) Co-operators are hands down the best.
