I am thinking of purchasing a paid subscription for one of these apps. Any one have any input as to which is better among all three?

Not sure what is better but most Youtubers I've seen that are doing overlanding are normally on OnX for trails. Alltrails is more of a hiking app. I've never heard of Trails Offroad. GAIA is another one I've seen but yea, OnX seems to be the one that's used the most right now.

I subscribe to both OnX and Gaia. I find OnX works great with CarPlay and Gaia kinda stumbles a bit. I doubt AllTrails works with CarPlay or Android Auto.

OnX user here,, use it mainly on my adventure bikes but it works great in the truck also. Used Gaia before, great platform but the way OnX integrates trail descriptions and reports,, makes Gaia seem like old news.

But does it work with Android Auto or CarPlay?
Didn't even bother to look. I just found out that it doesn't. That is a deal breaker right there. So AllTrails is out of the question. How long have you been using OnX? How does OnX function offline? Is it just as reliable when it is connected to the internet? Any other cons you can think of before I pull the trigger and purchase a subscription?

live been using it for about five years. If you’re in an area without cell coverage you have to download maps.
When I’m hiking I prefer Gaia.

Five years? There must be a reason why you opted to stick with OnX. I am sold then, I just wanted to hear it from someone who actually uses the app. There are too many conflicting opinion on the internet about these apps.
