I dunno. I like that sport bar — both on the TH and on Marty’s truck. But what do I know? I’m the same guy who likes the gloss black fender flares and roof on the Pro. :)

I am getting a Limited w/iForceMAX, this model “should” have the highest payload as it is not an off-road vehicle. Planning to use mine as a daily driver and will also be towing an Aliner pop-up approximately 2,500-3,500 fully loaded. Currently towing with our 2022 MDX Advance (5K tow pkg) which does okay, the new Tacoma either with or without iforceMAX will be a substantial improvement IMO.
If you're towing 5000 lbs what are You doing about trailer brakes ? I bought a TRD sport and there is no easy way to plug in a brake controller

If he's getting a Limited, it should have the OEM brake controller. For your TRD sport, have you looked at the wireless brake controller options like the Curt Echo? Not ideal, but better than nothing. TFL used a trailer-mounted brake controller for their tow testing with a base TRD OR.
Edit: TFL used this one: TEKONSHA | 902502 | Prodigy® RF Plug & Play Trailer Mounted Proportional Brake Controller for Trailers with 1-3 Axles, Black

The Tekonsha you listed is a great option if you don’t have a built in brake controller, this is what we currently use with our MDX and it works great!

The thing I don't like about the bluetooth controller is that the phone bluetooth can only do one thing . So if you're using it for the brakes , then no android auto or hands free phone connectivity

If your reply is to me about the Tekonsha, we don’t experience any of that, everything works great including Apple Car Play.

Yeah that could definitely be a limitation with the Curt Echo, but the Tekonsha Prodigy doesn't require your phone to function; it has its own dedicated remote.
