Bought truck 2 weeks ago. Power tailgate is occasionally only opening a few inches then beeps twice at me. I have tried some of the things people here suggested, like turning the power tailgate off then on. But nothing seems to change how it works. Can't figure out how to actually get it to work. Probably going to have to take it back to the dealer.

This happened to me when I tried to close my tailgate with the new Diamondback HD installed before it had time to break in ā€” I turned truck off and on and it was fine after

Tailgate didnā€™t work on mine when it arrived at the dealers. They changed a switch and itā€™s been fine ever since šŸ¤ž. Iā€™d get them to look at it.

I had this exact same problem and it drove me nuts. I had to force it open manually and then close it manually before the buttons would respond again. I figured out that whether this happens depends entirely on how long I press the button. If I give it a quick jab then it opens only a few inches and beeps at me. But if I hold the button down for about 1 second or so, it opens perfectly every time. I figured this out in early November and haven't had it happen to me since. I have not tested this out using the button under the tailgate latch--only with the two side buttons and the dash button.
