I have a 2025 Tacoma TRD Off-Road Hybrid and will be installing the Westcott preload collar lift—2.5 inches in the front and 3/4 inch in the rear. I’m looking to run 35-inch Nitto Ridge Grapplers with either Method 703s (+35 offset) or Method 305s (+25 offset). I’ve read that ‘minor’ trimming may be required, but I’d like to know exactly what needs to be trimmed. I’m fine removing the safety plates behind the front wheels, but I’d rather avoid cutting any body panels. Can anyone clarify what trimming is necessary? Thanks.

You will have to trim right at the bottom of your fender where the mud flap clips are. If you don’t it will cause you’re fenders to push up and you’re body lines will move. The more weight the more trimming. I didn’t have to trim more than a tiny strip since I’m always driving alone and hardly do any woop jumping at the dunes, I do have m/t tires but they are not that wide 35s 20x9.

Do you have an SR5 or an Off Road? Wondering if there’s more room in the fender area in off roads.

My truck had 35x11.50 Nitto M/Ts on the same Westcott lift and +25mm offset wheels when I bought it. The mudflaps were removed and the front crash plates, otherwise it was stock. Nothing had been trimmed or cut and it didn’t rub at all.

Oh nice that’s good to know. You think 35x12 would rub? How’s the ride comfort, road noise and mpgs with the lift and Nittos?
