Range vs MPG

Filled up today. Took 10.9 gallons. Said 111 miles to empty but now the range is up to 288. That's the highest so far. I haven't reset the average in a week and it shows average mpg at 22.

The manual states that the low fuel light trigger is 2.7gal/10.4L remaining. I would wager that the range calculation is using the same point as it's zero reference, meaning that the range is calculating against 18.2-2.7=15.5gal (69-10.4=58.6L)

First fill up yesterday. 20.2mpg. Trailhunter. Very little highway driving.
