Have a Trailhunter with 5 ft bed. First tank average MPG was 14.7. Drive in Normal mode but slow acceleration and always try to minimize braking. After I filled up and reset the Trip Odo, now getting around 18.5 MPG. Hopefully it keeps climbing but I doubt it.. haha. Making me reconsider getting bigger tires and adding a roof/bed rack.
I find the readings in the truck are different than what I track at the pump. For some reason, the truck shows a lower mpg than what my Fuelly app shows.
1,794 miles tracked, 19.8mpg, and my last fuel-up showed my best mpg to date: 21.1 over 182 miles.
After putting on SLIGHTLY larger than stock tires (Open Cou try at3’s 265/70/18) I’m getting 19.7 mpg on 87 octane and about 80% highway driving which is about 1mpg less than I was getting on stock tires
Disclaimer: my numbers are based on what the truck is telling me.
Driving around town my gauge has shown an average of 25.8mpg. That is driving 25-55mph
Took a 5hr trip over the weekend, mostly highway cruising at 85mph, and average dropped to 21.3mpg.
Next tank I will track to see what I am actually getting
Lifetime average of 19.0 with my trailhunter after ~1750 miles. This is a mix of city and highway and a mix of driving like I stole it and trying to get high MPG.
Highest I've gotten on a 30ish mile trip is 24mpg
Highest I've gotten on going to a buddies 3 miles away was 33mpg LOL
Finally did a run to visit my children. Round trip of 1,081 mi. 1/3 country highways in mountains (Show Low AZ to Phoenix via Globe). The rest interstate (I10 from Phoenix to Riverside CA)
averaged 23.5 mpg. My 2016 Prerunner 4-cylinder used to get around 20.9.
Now for the fun part.
Had the on-screen mpg display enabled just for fun. On the way back I reset it coming out of Hemet CA eastbound on the I10. When I got to Palm Springs (~30mi) it showed 38.5 mpg.
Filled mine up for the first time yesterday. 307 mi on the clock, dash says 20.8 mpg, math says it was actually close to 24.5 (hybrid). Mix of city and highway driving, normal and eco modes.
2,500 miles in with my TH, 19.5mpg average. My best tank gave me 21.1, the last one 18.4. I'm not really pushing it hard either. Could always be worse, but I was hoping for better.
