Title... Is there such thing as a roll up bed cover that I can mount a rack to while also having enough room under the 'pocket' the door rolls into.

I've looked at a few of the offerings here, but can't tell if there will be enough room for everything...

Why not get a hard roll up like the Revolver X4TS that doesn't have a canister in the bed? Excuse the pic of a Gladiator, I don't have any pics of Tacomas with our rack and that cover handy.

Wouldn't be opposed, but would prefer the 'automatic' aspect of one with the canister.

Was thinking of going this route myself but concerned on the quality of the X4TS.

The X4TS roll up (vs retractable covers) has served me well so far. I'll have a better sense after I put it through it's paces this summer. I used to have the retrax pro with tracks paired with a Yakima Overhaul HD on my 2017 Tacoma. Loved it except for the lost bed space for the canister. For me, the roll up is so far a better option for the way I use my truck. Unfortunately, the Yakima Overhaul HD doesn't pair with the X4TS, so I changed to an Elevate rack over the top. So far, so good. Let me know if you need pics. Good luck finding the best fit for you!

Pics would be great. How is water egress? I’ve been reading that this and flimsy corner pieces are the biggest issue with the X4TS.

I had it installed professionally rather than do it myself. Very little water gets in. If you need specific pics I'm happy to take more.

Your set-up looks fantastic.

Having had both the roll-up cover and the Retrax, how would you compare them regarding security? I know that any motivated thief will get/take what they want, but one aspect of the Retrax that seems appealing to me is the metal construction and lock may provide enough of a deterrent to not make it worth the extra effort for the criminals. While having the canister take up bed space isn't ideal, it appeared to be the required trade-off for the added protection. If you could share your ideas about whether or not there's anything to that assumption, it would be very much appreciated. Thanks very much and again, absolutely love how you've got your in the above pic.

The X4TS is also metal (and covered), so to me it appears approximately equivalent re security. It relies on the tailgate lock, which I suppose means there is one less point of attack vs the lock on the retrax. I see them as about the same re security/deterrence.

Here's an excerpt from the product page:
"Constructed from durable marine-grade vinyl atop heavy-duty, cut-resistant aluminum slats..."
