FYI. Wasted some money today on these. If you have electric seats then the covers in the front will not fit correctly nor be tight and from fitting because the straps cannot be connected underneath. There is an OEM shield under the seat that hides/protects all the wiring and prevents the tucked buckles from being able to be gotten to and connected.

There are some nylon type straps that probably can be fanangled to get them unhooked but it's so damn tight back there.. Also it's lame that RC doesn't have this type of stuff covered in an install video. With no instructions it's lame to market these for this vehicle.

They fit perfectly fine, Raise the seat all the way up and you can easily get the straps over the bars without issues.

What do you mean by straps over the bar? I have a big cover underneath the seat from the back. Even with my seat all the way up u can't see from the back how to get that cover out of the way to get to the straps.

you have to unclip that flap there on stretchy cord connected to the seat, unclip that and bingo

And for the 3 clips\straps, do you bring them out the side of that flap and then reattach the flap? Obviously the only other option is rip\poke holes in the flap equally across and then put the flap back up.

no the 3 straps come thru the back of the seat, once that flap is unclipped you connect the 3 straps for the seat cover and you push that flap up into the rear seat cover you see nothing and cut nothing

Purchased the Rough Country seat covers for my 2024 Tacoma SR5 4x4 Double Cab basically because I wanted to protect the seats, and the reviews were more on the positive side. They cost me $199 for a full set of seats front and back as opposed to $600ish and up with the other brands. I did not want leather; these are neoprene. My background is in aircraft assembly and maintenance.

Here is what I discovered during installation. First of all; I highly recommend you leave them out in the open for a day or two to dissipate the smell of the neoprene. Other reviews have also stated this and it proved wise. A good installation is going to take some time; it took me a total of about 2 ½ hours. I did not rush. My glove size is small to medium, which is helpful, because you are going to have to tuck straps through tight places and connect them to other straps and under-the-seat latch points. There are some things under the seat that bite if you know what I mean, so again, take your time and if you get frustrated take a break. Feeding the side traps through were the most challenging. These covers did not come with instructions, but it’s not rocket science to put these covers on. There are videos on-line, but I did not need them. First, I pulled off all the head rests and did them, then the passenger seat first (first top and then bottom) and the driver’s side same order, then the backseat (single seat first). You will have to slide the top cushion under the middle seat belt and then over the seat in the back.

These covers fit very good; I would not say snug in the middle. On the sides, yes they are snug. The covers are not form fitting per se. There is air (space) between the seat cushion where your rear sits and you back rests back in the vertical seat portion. That said, I have put about 80 miles on them, maybe 4 different trips and find them comfortable in cold weather. Not sure how the neoprene will feel in the hot weather of Texas. They are comfortable. They are black, and look fine in my Taco’s grey interior. The tops fully cover seat material, the bottoms leave a wee bit of seat cushion exposed in the very rear of the bottom seat cushion. Maybe as covers stretch out over time this small area will get covered. It is a very small area.

Before the seat covers were installed, the rear seat bottoms were difficult to snap up in the upright position. Toyota installed very cheap snaps, in my opinion, and there was no slack in the straps. With these seat covers installed, forget about snapping up the rear seat bottoms; not going to happen no matter what. Time will tell how this ability will be missed, and an easy fix would be a bungee cord or better yet, sew in an extension with a better snap. Toyota does not give us much room in the back seats of the double cab anyway.

All in all, I am pleased with my purchase and installation of the Rough Country seat covers from a quality and value perspective. I remember when a decent set of seat covers could be had for under $100. The Rough Country seat covers look fine as well, I would have preferred the “RC” not to be there.
