I did my first oil change this past weekend (4,300 miles). Everything looked good while I was under there except there was significant rust on the CV joints. Has anyone else noticed this? Is this anything I should be worried about? I was just surprised to see something like that with such low mileage. It's a 2024 TRD OR.

Yes, mine looks about the same. I'm not sure if it's any use trying to get the rust off at this point, but I did spray liquid film to keep it from getting worse. As much as it's an eyesore, I think Toyota didn't worry about this so much for a reason. I've got under a few 4th gens because I messed up one of my CV boots and noticed the same on all of them. Also, I checked on mine and found nothing, but on a similar post, 4G pro owners mentioned rust under the seat along the brackets.

California truck here and mine looks the same.
Annoying yes, but probably a non-issue. Maybe apply fluid film or another rust inhibitor if it really bothers you. It's actually something I plan to do (because I also have to touch up some spots on my 4runner from off-roading) but have yet made time for.

Aside from the CV joints, there are many machine services, and non-coated hardware throughout that seem to have coded themselves nicely with rust.

I am less concerned about the CV joints as that layer of rust will actually protect the steel. But when it comes to both hardware that is allowed to rust like on your swaybar links, that’s gonna be fun trying to get those things off in five or 10 years.

Rust actually forms a protective barrier.
That's why you don't see paint on freeway overpass structures.
