Seatbelt Warning Sound

Does anyone have thoughts about the seatbelt warning sound?
It really goes off the the rails in 15 secs...
It's terrible

thetikit.com has been my go to silencer for years with different rigs. Buy'em once for a few bucks and they work with all my vehicles. They work when I want to silence the alarm and pop out for normal function when needed. Great customer service, too.

What else does this Carista thing do? The seatbelt chime is rather annoying and I also find the auto start stop annoying too. It’s not as bad as others but I forget to push the button to deactivate it. Can this be used with other Tacos or is it married to one vehicle? There are 3 Tacos on the family.

Not tied to a specific vehicle. Many other options, auto start/stop isn't one of the options however.

Any bi-directional scan tool can turn off the chime and toggle a variety of other features. Speaker volume has a range 1-14 as example. The dealer can change all these settings, an independent shop should, or you can get a bi-directional scan tool and do it yourself. Owning one isn't a bad idea, given how many modules and computer-controlled functions new vehicles have.

*Edit - Confirm functionality of any scan tool before you purchase one. Xtool D8W is what I have, and it has all these functions.

I literally just bought the Carista EVO a few days ago just so I can turn that god awful alarm sound off. Now it's turned off, and never have to hear it again.

I used Carista with my old OBDLink MX+ adapter to disable the seat belt chime and increase my turn signal time from 3 seconds to 5 seconds. I was tempted to enable the roll down windows with press and hold of a button on the key fob, but figured it's a feature i'd actually never use. To bad no option to disable the fob press tailgate option.

Also I had to pay for the $15 a month subscription as there was no trial available for me [i just cancel the day after and the subsribtption stays active for 30 days and just won't renew is all]. No worries, i'm happy to have paid $15 to disable that awful chime. If it were a chime that would only go off when you do more than 10-12mph, i'm fine with that, but that's not the case for this truck.

I am curious, when I had my BMW [using BimmerTech], certain ECU\Infotainment firmware updates would erase my custom programming. I wonder if that's the case with Toyota.....

I made the same changes back in October and have been in for two services since. Everything I reprogrammed has stayed with no change.
