We have a 140w panel for our trailer and I would consider it essential for off-grid camping. It generally keeps up with our electrical demand which includes an ARB refrigerator, trailer fan, device charging, lights, and combi water heater/cabin heater. Is the solar power considered an essential? Or do our Trailhunter inverters take on that duty well enough?
I have not attempted charging my trailer batteries with my trucks hybrid system. For us, shore power goes through a 2000 watt inverter and I am not sure how well that will play with the 2400 watts the Tacoma is supposed to provide. I think usefulness of charging off the Tacoma will largely depend on the trailers electrical setup and what your unique electrical demand will be.
