Spray on bedliner worth it?

Does anyone have any knowledge of the spray on bedliner, is it worth it? Curious to see how it will hold up over time.

Would you be better off with the composite bed and get a bed mat to prevent things from moving around?

It is trash and should be avoided in my opinion.

Just read the tundra forums. Best option is the bed mat, but if someone wants it sprayed, you should use line-x not oem

I put Line-X on my 2004 Taco in... 2005ish. I throw scuba tanks, compressors and heavy, sharp shit in there all the time and off road with that stuff in the back. the only place that ever separated from the metal was the very back edge, where I would tip huge steel gas bottles over the corner of the bed, and even that, only about 1/4 inch of material separated. Everywhere else is still good. I highly recommend the commercial spray in liners from a reputable installer. One of the best upgrades I made to my truck.

Mine is great. Secondary is that it deadens the noise of the composite bed. brand of bed liner makes almost no difference, its the prep and application that matter.

Mine came with the spray in liner and it is pretty good. Very grippy. Definitely looks better than the composite bed alone. Will probably still get a mat, they are bulletproof.

I prefer line-x, but am happy with my factory bed liner. I don't think it is worth rejecting a car over if it is included in your dealership's allocation.

Bringing this back from the dead. I have a bed mat in my 2g to keep stuff from sliding around but don't like how dirt, rocks, twigs, and leaves work there way under the mat. Yes I can take out the mat and blow or spray out the debris but I must be getting lazy. For the 4g I was thinking the spray-on liner would give me the anti-slide properties I want and be easier clean out.
Factory spray-on is $575 vs $200 for the mat (which you can usually find for ~$160). Getting Line-X locally is about the same price as Toyota but that's for the whole bed. Since Line-X will spray wherever you want and charge by the sqft, I'm thinking of just having the bottom of the bed sprayed (like a mat). May only save $100-150 but boxes aren't going to slide off the sides and side scratches aren't going to rust so why coat it.

My Trailhunter was optioned with the factory spray bed liner and thank goodness it actually works! Very grippy , personally I believe the vehicle holds more value in the long run when you have/keep factory components on it.

My PreRunner had it already installed when I purchased it. Works well. Had a bed mat in my Gen2 but I don't plan on getting a one for Gen4.

My Gen 3 did not have the spray on liner but my Gen 4 came with it already installed. I have to say I do like it, just seems to make the whole bed more rugged. I had the OEM bed mat in the Gen 3 and got one for the Gen 4 (of course the 3 did nit fit in the 4 lol). I would consider this a must have mod even with the spray on liner. It offers extra protection to the bed floor, some padding on heavy items, keeps things from sliding around, and is easily removed for cleaning.

Mine was optioned with spray in bedliner. Does not seem to be as hard/thick/durable as line-x or any similar spray-in coating. I opted for a cheap bed mat over top, which is working out great.

I have the OEM spray on liner it definitely does not keep things from sliding around much. I added the OEM mat on top of it and it is much more grippy than the liner. It's quality heavyweight as well.

I 100% recommend the OEM bed mat. Nice and heavy, lays completely flat, and it's grippy.
