Squeaking Roof Top Tent

Recently installed a CBI Roof Rack Height bed rack, Prinsu roof rack and a Roam Desperado RTT on my new 4th gen.

The CBI “roof rack height” bed rack isn’t quiet roof rack height. It’s about 1.5” shorter than the roof rack and isn’t flush.

The Roam Desperado RTT squeaks soooooo bad! It’s becoming really annoying.

has anyone experienced this with a RTT? The outer shell is aluminum. I thought about installing some rubber washers, not sure if that would work or where the squeaking is even coming from.

That is such a wildly specific combo I think you're just going to need to play detective. CBI can't account for EVERY roof rack, but my experience they were a solid company to deal with if you need help. I don't know what you'd have for options though.

Aftermarket stuff just makes noise. Roof racks make noise in wind, ditch lights can whistle at high speeds, and things squeak or click with factory parts, let alone aftermarket stuff. Just comes with the territory. I have about a dozen molle panels I've tried but keep pulling due to rattling every single time. It was an expensive lesson.

You need isolate where the squeak is coming from first. Maybe throw someone in the bed while you drive to see if they can locate it? Or you can ride in the truck bed to try to find it.
