24 TRD OR Premium… have had the truck for a couple of weeks and loaded up for a gravel race yesterday with a couple of buddies, excited to show off my new taco. Problem was, we couldn’t back out of the driveway. Spent several minutes fumbling around the menus/settings and looking for a button to turn off the sensors, and finally just backed up very, very slow. Happened again at the gas station.

Someone on another forum said to press the “Tow/Haul” button when something is in the hitch and it will disable the sensors. That didn’t work either. Sat in the driveway today and went thru the MID display and it seems like the ”PSKD” or Parking Support Brake is what turns off that setting. I was hoping for a quick button on the dash such as selecting Tow/Haul, but no dice.

I’m going to go thru the manual but, surely someone else has had to deal with this also. Post up if you know what’s up.

Shut off the parking sensors in the MID. I can’t remember exactly but there’s 2 that need shut off.

Good to know. I have not used my platform bike rack yet on my truck since I just bought it. I too carry a mountain and gravel bike. Hopefully someone has an answer.

That doesn't read right. The manual and a Google search should get it for you. If you turn off PKSB you'll still get the audio warning easy to turn off with a screen tap but won't have the brakes slam on.

Early on I did not like that setup opposed to my wife's German car having a center console button for instant bypass but with use and time think it is okay or better because there's no need to keep pushing the bypass button like my wife's car. For example, it stays on while rack is on.

I have a single tray 1up rack and have never had any issues with or without a bike on it. I've never turned ON or OFF any sensors either.

Well damn. Take a look in your truck’s MID and see if you have the “PKSD” Parking Support Brake option. I thought it would be part of the Safety Sense package and everyone would have it, but maybe it’s on trucks with the towing tech or premium package?? 🤷‍♂️

I just looked through my menus and I don't see PKSD anywhere. I have a non premium TRD Sport.

1 or 2 trays, I have to disable the PKSB. Anything but a super slow backwards crawl slams on the brakes.

I smile for knowing 1Up, the engineer friends who designed and prototyped your bike, and the really neat woman who manages Trek's graphics and paint. The MTB engineering team usually does an annual work day and contribution where I'm a trail steward so I see the AL early prototypes, white paint closer to production prototypes, and at times covered or disguised new components. A former trail steward associate is now a Fox suspension mechanical engineer.

Some riders gripe to me about what they think is an impossible to ride section of trail we did with the Trek engineers. It is not impossible for some and the whole point was for real world testing. It's only about 200 feet but can't be done without brute strength and trials skills.
