***update - i had the payload incorrect - double checked by downloading the a spec sheet from toyota and i had 500lbs more payload than i thought i had - PROBLEM SOLVED ;)
I had 1200lbs down, but spec sheet says 1698lbs for the TRD OR Prem Hybrid.
Hi All,
I started speccing out some armor and it rapidly became HEAVY to the point where there was almost no useful payload left for the vehicle.
I looked at adding:
CBI Steel Sliders
CBI Steel Skid Plates
A stealth bumper with winch (synthetic rope).
Retrax pro tonneau cover
Kuat Ibex Rack
.... and was left with 250lbs of free payload available.
Obviously going aluminum saves a LOT of weight, but from what the internet says (take that with a grain of salt) aluminum doesn't do the job.
What are thoughts on making the 4th gen offroad capable and protected without overburdening the vehicle?
