Toyota App Keeping Bluetooth Connection

Anyone else finding that after you close the Toyota App (IOS) it keeps the Bluetooth connection active on your phone? I have to kill the app to get it to turn off. Battery drainer if left active. Can’t seem to find a setting or anything to remedy. I’m wondering if it has something to do with the digital key?

Yes, mine does too. It’s constantly tracking location. Very annoying. I also kill the app. The pic shows what it looks like on my phone.

Yep that’s it. I didn’t realize it was tracking my trip until I happened upon the Drive Pulse feature in the app. I opted out of that. Not my thing even though they say they don’t share the data.

This has me guessing some not really reading that sticker on the dash or other warnings on tracking.

I've made posts on my troubleshooting the Bluetooth and firmware here or both here and TacomaWorld. My trials are same methodology I supervise as an IT director deploying and troubleshooting this at scale. Different hardware, Apple and Android, different OS versions are all less reliable than the Bluetooth is in our other Japanese make and German car. Not as solid as the decade old Toyota we traded. Hopefully a firmware fix coming.

Apparently when you 1st get the truck if you don’t agree to have Service Connect, which includes tracking of your truck you won’t get 10 years of remote start with the FOB. Sneaky.
