I just picked up a TRDOR for MSRP at Carlsbad Toyota on 2-28-24, without a bunch of useless add-ons. They had a new TRD sport on the lot but I didn't look at it. It was my first time dealing with them and I have no complaints. I dealt with.This sticker price from the dealer is outrageous! An almost $16,000 market adjustment. The dealer showing “add-ons” that came from the factory or port. Plus the addition of all the supposed “coatings” they put on the truck.
My truck came with the bed mat and the cost shown for that is $200.
My truck came with the tailgate inserts at a cost of $99.
I bought the black exhaust tip from the dealer for $130 because my truck didn’t have it.
this dealer is charge 2x or 3x the actual costs of these things. This is wild!
And its not even a 4x4!

That’s the best way to do. Simple. Easy. Go in and get out. It was the same for me. My guy called me back on 12/22/23 and told me they got the one I wanted allocated to them. He reserved and I picked it up 2/15. It came a month later than it was supposed to do but I’m happy now that I’ve got it. Better late than never.

I can buy this truck from my dealer AND a new Prius for my teenager for the same price these scumbags are demanding for this truck alone.
Tint: illegal in my state
Paint and window protection: do you trust them to install this better than a dedicated shop?
Door cups and edge guards: ...........
Tailgate emblem: $400. $12.00 on Amazon.
Black exhaust tip: I guess if you're a mall crawler, it might not ever get dinged
Wheel and tire upgrade: $5,000 markup.
Some idiot will probably finance it for 10 years at $1,000/mo and then get it repossessed in a few months.

The real questions is there actually paint and window protection on it? No real way to tell unless it’s that thin plastic protector that you can see. How do we really know they out a ceramic coating on the truck. The tint on the truck is illegal in the state it’s being sold in.

I don't know the laws in California... but now you got me on a mission to find someone who cares and might do something about that. Here in New York, illegal tint is a BIG DEAL. Can't pass inspection with it on. One shop that passed illegal vehicles was fined $400k and had to close down shop.
And I agree with you on the protection package bs. Goes back to that word I said: "trust". How anyone would trust any dealership on anything is beyond me, but a stealership like this? I just can't.
