TRD Pro Front Skid Plate installed w/ Trailhunter Transfer Case Skid Plate on TRD Off-Road

Finally got my front skid plates on. The mismatch isn't as horrendous as I thought it would be and the TRD Pro skid plate matches the NYTOP recovery points pretty well.

Still have to get my rear end Trailhunter skid plate on and get the correct fuel tank strap to get the OEM full length fuel tank skid plate fully mounted.

Looks good! I plan to do the same. I had a car toss a deer into my drivers side bumper, cracking it. The damage was not bad, but the useless composite skid got bent. I was doing repairs through the dealer, so I finagled getting the OEM skid. I asked for the trailhunter skid and they said no. Claimed they would be adulterating the vehicle. No problem as the work was less than the payment. Only cost me $110!

I actually like the plastic covers now that I've done a few oil changes. They're super light weight and easy to remove for cleaning mud and stuff too. If I was going to be doing more serious off-roading (rock crawling and whatnot), I'd definitely spring for the metal plates though. For my purposes, the plastic guards are more than adequate. Most of my off-roading is around muddy job sites, and I've gone over some pretty rutted up ground where the plates have skidded. They seem to hold up pretty well.

Makes sense for your use, I'm in Vegas where mud is almost nonexistent and big rocks and shitty rutted trails are plentiful. Plus I think the TRD Pro plate just looks neat.

That it does! If/when I do a suspension swap, I’ll definitely throw one on my truck for the looks alone. As my truck sits currently, the skid plates are basically non-existent.

Looks good! So the rear one goes all the way to the cross member? I have the sway bar disconnect, so I have a steel skid that goes about half way. I did the TH skid in front and a TH diff skid. Wondering if I should complete the package or if the Sway bar disconnect skid is enough.

I love the look of the TRD Skid Plate. Trying to decide if it's worth the OEM price tag. Do you have any photos of it from a regular angle, just standing in front the truck?

Wondering how visible the TRD actually is from an everyday level point of view.

It does go all the way to that rearward crossmember. I have the SDM as well and the Trailhunter transfer case skid plate replaces the SDM steel plate which was kind of disappointing because the SDM plate was super beef cake. Im surprised they didn't just call the trailhunter skid a transmission skid plate because it pretty much fully covers the trans too.

If you already have the other 2 trailhunter plates then buying the transfer case skid plate is practically free if you don't think about it.

I can take some tomorrow and post it but I'll be honest you really can't see them. If you wanted someone to see it they would definitely have to bend over some. I'm just using it at as motivation and justification for getting this thing lifted sooner. Just wait until the OEM parts sites do another holiday sale and you can get free shipping or like 10% off and then the OEM price won't sting as much lol.
