2024 Toyota Tacoma TRD Sport
Been lurking for a while since taking delivery of my Bronze Oxide Sport Premium in July. Was all over the place selecting my wheel and tire set-up, but after much research and viewing 100's of pics here, I finally landed on 265/70R18 Falken WildPeak AT4Ws on bronze/black 18x9 ICON Alloys Rebound wheels. They measure out to be a bit over 32" which is close to the diameter of the 285/70R17 that many go with. I wanted to keep the 18" rims on the sport and I thought the bronze/black wheels would match the Bronze Oxide paint well. With a +25 offset an 9" wide rim, my concern was having too much poke, but it turned out to be absolutely perfect and I wanted to share pics right away to maybe help someone else. Other mods to the truck are: BAK Revolver X4s Tonneau Cover, Toyota OEM Rocker Protectors, Lasfit Front Turn Signal Lights, Lasfit floor mats, and an Ecarzo Bet Mat from Amazon. I'm coming off 10 years of owning a somewhat heavily modded Jeep Wrangler which took several years to get the way I wanted it. I think I have my new Tacoma where I want it and I am thrilled with all the mods. I was considering a leveling kit, but I think I'm just going to leave it as is.

Nice! I have your truck. Can you tell me how it drives vs. the stock tires? Harsher, MPG?

It's definitely not as smooth as the stock Sport tires, and you can feel the "rumble" of the tread. Fair trade-off for me as I wanted a better tire for the snow and the Falkens are M+S rated. I was also used to a Wrangler with Ridge Grapplers so it still drives way better than that! There's a very slight hit to acceleration. I went with an SL load rating to keep the weight down as much as possible. I haven't put enough miles on them yet to see the hit to MPG. I'm hoping it's under 2 MPG. I've been getting 21 MPG (per the truck computer) after almost 5K on the stock tires. I'll report back.

The bronze on bronze looks great and those tires are the perfect size for the truck. The tires fill out the wheel openings nicely.

Agreed. Basically the same diameter as a 285 on a 17" rim. I think the 265/70 is best on a 9" wide rim with a +25 offset. Plus lighter and a little narrower is better in the snow.

Very nice man. I’m not a big fan of the poke look and also struggled with wheel choice. I do 99% street driving with the occasional forest service road so I wanted to stay with 265s for MPGs and ride quality. I started with Wildpeaks but after 10k miles started getting a weird vibration and had a hard time balancing the wildpeaks. Ended up getting a set of the BFG trail terrains take offs from a TRD OR and these tires are amazing. They’re super light and smooth.

I was thinking of the 285/70/18 Toyos because they are only 57lb. But not sure they’ll fit. These trail terrains look great on your truck man.

Looks really good. Same size stock tires on my trail hunter look tiny .. probably bc of the factory lift and maybe the fact that falkens run large.

Anyone have any anecdotal info on whether falkens run more comfortable than KO3s?

Trailhunter sits like 1.5” higher and has +20 offset. Lots of different experiences with this truck. Some folks threw on 295/70/18s no issues no rub no removal of the crash pad. Some have rub with 285/70. Could be individual tire differences.

I’m surprised the AT4s are behaving that way! Thought they would be good. I had falken AT3s on my third gen and no issues
