Tricking the computer to think the hood is latched with it open

Hi all,

The other day I was trying to do a parasite draw test on my 24 OR and I couldn't jam a flat head to lock the hood latch like I could with my 16 Colorado. The instructment cluster stayed on as long as the hood was open.

I am wondering if it's my "skill issue" and I should tried harder or if there's another way.

I am assuming that you are directly monitoring the current draw on your battery. If so, just drop the leads down to the ground and out to whatever instrument that you are using to measure parasitic draw.

Then you can just close the hood.
