2024 Tacoma Twelve A/T Tires Tested On the Road - Review by Tire Rack combined-jpg-

Description: Twelve selections from the On-Road, Off-Road, and Rugged All-Terrain categories comprise this All-Terrain tire test to see how they stack up when it comes to daily driving. A/T tires excel off the beaten path, but what about the rest of the time? The popular aesthetics of this category lead to many using them on their daily drivers. So, what are you sacrificing by choosing these products for your concrete journeys? Noise, comfort, handling, and safety are all considered as we test all-terrain off-road tires on the road!

Great article. I buy from and trust Tire Rack alot and I often base my purchases on their reviews. I can usually find people with my truck reviewing my top choices - a great resource.

See this yet @tacorancher?

Oh I’ve seen it my friend. I’m getting some light 17” wheels and breaking free of E load tires.

I’ve heard the Tire rack dude’s voice on all those test videos over the years and seeing him was a trip.

IMO Tire rack gives me the most straight up, honest info out there when buying tires. When we talked tires before somehow seeing what Tire Rack had to say never came up.

Sounds like a solid choice on both the wheels and tires - love to hear how that works out. Maybe a video on your YouTube channel?

TireRack is all I use. But they failed me on the Firestone XT review which I did not agree with. But yeah they are great. I’m getting some 20-22 pounds wheels (shaving off 11-13 pounds!) then wrapping those with 285/70/17 or 285/75/17 tires. Those will also be lighter than my tires. And they’ll be SL or C loads. The truck will fly and be super cushy. Will report back. Closing in on a few options.

I was a little disappointed they did not test the Michelin LTX AT2.

Anyone here running the winning Cooper Road and Trail AT? Pretty decent prices on them.

Have them on my ‘06 right now and my wife’s’ T4R. What would you like to know? If I can answer it, I will, but tires aren’t my strone suit.

Mostly wondering how you like them. Are they decently quiet on the road? How are they in rain and snow?

I like them a lot. Had the “Discoverer 4S” (the predecessor) before, and these are updated a bit. They are quieter, but you still get A/T lug hum at speed, nothing horrible. Rain and snow show the true uses for these. Grip is fantastic in snow/ice. So much so that I stopped swapping winters on. If winter tires are 99% grip in the winter, these are like 95%.
