Have to get the windshield replaced on my Pro….. Big crack :( After market parts aren’t available yet so they are replacing it with OEM. Insurance pays anyway (of course deductible is mine). I saw something somewhere about recalibration due to cameras etc? What types of things should I pay attention to here to make sure it’s done right?

The glass shop should be more than educated on the cameras it’s pretty basic in their line of work now, I’m pretty sure insurance even tells them about the cameras, they should run you through the process when you inquire wherever you choose to have it replaced

I don’t have the pro and honestly I don’t know what extra tech it has built in that the OR doesn’t, but I was told if the truck is under two years almost all insurance companies will pay for OEM. I got Toyota glass. I understand you said there aren’t any available for the pro. I guess I’d just suggest making absolutely certain. And possibly waiting it out a couple months if you can. If you can’t you can’t. Sorry that happened. Major bummer on a new truck.

Yeah thanks. The OEM glass is available just on back order. Was supposed to be in last week. So hopefully soon.

Oh man I misread your post, apologies. Glad you’re getting the OEM glass. I was initially told a week but it ended up being closer to a month. I went with a local company with excellent reviews and Toyota certified. Decibel levels before and after are the same. He used an OBD plug tied wirelessly to an iPad Pro for calibrating everything. I was told the faster it calibrates the better the install. That was from a friend of mine who’s dad owns a glass shop in another city. He was also the one who suggested testing the noise on the same road/freeway at same speed for any perceivable difference in noise level.
