The Tacoma works as advertised!
Engaging MTS would have worked also. But yeah, having a front tire and rear tire slip at the same time is relatively common when off roading, especially in mud. It's the reason I roll my eyes when people purchase the non-Off Road models to throw big tires on and play make believe.

Its kind of surprising the truck let you switch to 4lo and engage the locker at a standstill. I've had mixed results switching from 4H to 4Low without rolling the truck forward or back some.
You need to be moving to switch into 4H, and stopped and in neutral to switch from 4H to 4L

How come Toyota doesn't offer a front locker or a Torsen ?
