The rock rails on the Pro only mitigate rock chips anyway. They aren't frame mounted and cannot hold the weight of the truck. They look nice but I would have zero problem taking them off.
I watched a video last night of a guy lightly off roading his truck, and his trans was overheating. I'm convinced that there's something wrong with his truck, because I've wheeled mine harder than that, and other YouTubers have as well, without the trans getting hot.
You may have to go onto...
Because they made me wait so long for them, and I really wanted and was excited for these, I just couldn't bring myself to sending them back. It would probably have been more months of waiting.
Different companies have step style rock sliders available, but you'll need to remove the factory rocker rails that came on your Pro model if you want to run them. Most likely.

The problem with running the TRD skid without a support brace behind it, is that should you actually mash into something, whether it a rock or tree stump, whatever, you could bend the plate and push it up behind your radiator.
Don't try resetting anything, just get it to the dealer, you need them to be able to identify the issue. If the truck acts up again while you're driving it, call the dealership and tell them to come and get it. Have your wife follow you to the dealership.
Old school roll bars used to bolt to the trucks frame, through the floor of the bed. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong, but those don't exist for the Tacoma, mostly because of it's composite bed. What they do make are chase racks, though the market hasn't yet caught up with the new model...
When your new $50k truck breaks, and you've bought multiple vehicles from that same dealership, they had better cough up a loaner for you. I really didn't give them an option though, "I need a loaner" was the first thing out of my mouth when I rolled into their service dept.
It was interesting...
Have you seen my truck around OKC at all? I live on the North side. Earlier today was the first time I spotted another 4th Gen in the city, it was an SR5 I believe, going East on Hefner along side the lake.
