Has anyone installed a Burger JB4 and tested it out? Would love more power out of this thing, particularly after installing some all terrains. Thanks.

Looks like it’s been backordered since it’s been on their site. Not even sure it’s available yet

Which ATs did you put on - what size / weight?

Not yet, but I have had a JB4 in the MINI for years and have been very happy with it.

I am also interested in hearing from someone who has put a JB4 on a 2024 Tacoma Hybrid. Was the install straight forward? Do you notice a difference?

Super curious on this. How would it compare to an OTT tune?
Piggyback controllers utilize a signal intercept method of manipulating the various inputs and the respective output from ECU to achieve their target effect (more boost for example). In order to make an effective change, the signal input(s) to the ECU are “spoofed” or manipulated/clamped to effectively bypass the default limiters and target tables referenced. This leaves the piggyback controller free to control the output.

Where a flash tune, such as ours, is able to natively control the boost for example. While working in conjunction with the factory limiters. No need to manipulate/alter/clamp various signals.

When you have to spoof the input signals to the ECU to reach your targets, you’re effectively eliminating and bypassing the built in pre-programmed safeties designed to protect your engine.

Things like Oil Temperature limiters, Engine Coolant Temperature limiters, Air Intake Temp sensor limiters, Knock Limiters, etc., are all rendered useless when the ECU is unable to accurately sample what is happening inside the engine.

We work with and retain these factory safeguards in a way the external piggy-back controllers cannot.

However isn’t a downside of your approach that the manufacturer can clearly see that the
System has been modified by an “unauthorized “ controller vs the piggyback may leave some questionable readings but cannot be conclusively assigned to an outside “unauthorized “ system?

Our flashing method does not record any RoB history. GTS+ will not report or indicate the ECU has been flashed.

This was one of the highest priorities of ours - ensuring no “flags” are set/recorded during our flash.
