@fitsofrage88 Obviously it is not the hybrid system in your truck. When my transmission downshifts at the right time it is smooth, but sometimes there is a delay and then a thud. I think it is caused by a sticky shift solenoid not responding immediately.
I am not an automotive engineer, but that hybrid engaging/disengaging story sounds like bs to me. You know, the kind of thing dealers tell you to make you go away.
The hybrid motor is inline with the torque converter and transmission and is always engaged, just sometimes it is a generator and sometimes it is a motor. I can tell you that my hybrid never clunks when "engaging/disengaging". It is also the starter motor in this system, but it does not do that until you start to move again.
