Before I schedule a dealer visit. Anyone here with a heated steering wheel, does the top of your wheel get way warmer than the bottom? Also do you notice the steering wheel is on a heated cycle. The steering wheel in my truck will get warm and then cools off and warms up back to temperature? Any input would be appreciated. Thank you.

I have the heated steering wheel. It’s been cold this past week and I have used it every day.

what I have noticed is it will fist heat up in the middle where your hands grip the wheel. Then the top will heat up then the bottom.

I was thinking the same thing that the bottom does not get as warm as the top. But yesterday I had it on longer and could tell both the bottom and top were about the same.

So I think it’s normal how it heats up.
What I can say is it heats up fast and at times I wish it had a level control like the seats. Low,medium, high

Ya'll must have some sensitive hands, cause I love the heat output. I think it could actually be a little warmer, and could stand to be constant on, not the cycle/pulse.

Mine does the same. Gets warm at the top first and then the bottom warms up. I just assumed it had something to do with all the plastic and all at the bottom. I don't think I've left it on long enough notice it cycling. Mine gets pretty warm pretty quickly.

Mine is the same as yours. It's prob just kicking on/off and the top is the warmest.

I've never used the heated steering wheel. I'll turn the seats on till the blower is ready for heat, then I turn them off. I guess my hands are just not sensitive to the cold.

Same here, bottom gets warm but nowhere near as warm as the top and sides. My guess and only a guess is that there is no heating element at the bottom and the bottom only gets warm as the rest of the wheel heats up. As an older guy with some early arthritis this is a must have option for me. I even use it on not so cold days as I find it helpful for my hands. Was hoping there was a young lady option that popped up in the back seat for a shoulder massage on long trips but I don’t think Toyota offered this in the Gen 4. I think they considered this option but it kept trying to change the radio station and override the Nav directions…

I don't notice the cycling, but the top half is definitely warmer than the bottom sides (8 and 4 o'clock). The very bottom doesn't seem to get warm hardly at all.
